The best would be to use photobucket... but some firewalls block the streaming from there...
So, go make nice-nice with the IT guys if that doesn't work for you!

Welcome, the diff should be able to cope. Perhaps something else is the cause?

i find this program helps alot to reduce picture sizes.
http://www.imageoptimizer.net/Pages/Home.aspx
don't download the app, doesn't seem to work on your pc. but if you have patience can do all the resizing online and save to your own pc.

hope this helps :thumb:

Well that is very simple actually, let's get a basic description with a few steps down.

Ok so you have a pic or 5 that you want to upload to the forum but don't know where to start so let's get a few basic pointers out of the way.. (For the purpose of this excercise we will be using photostand as our test bench)

Your image may not be more than 1mb, should you have any bitmap (bmp) images it's best to re-save these as jpeg due to size.

Right so now it's off to http://www.photostand.co.za - you do not even need to register an account with them (downside to this is you won't find links to your pics again but the upside is you could always search the forum and get the link that way)

Ok now you're on the home page and see the following:

Image

Here you click on the "browse" button and locate your stored images, once found click on the "Open" and then click the "Start Uploading" button below the image lines.

Image

You will now see the following message displayed stating that your pic is being uploaded

Image

The last and easiest step is to simply copy and paste the URL link (highlighted on pic) into the forum and whala you have action!!

Image

Can't be easier than that, but not all peeps are pc literate and in those cases just shout and we'll give a hand.

I'm not sure if it's intentional, or due to old age, but the pics don't work anymore. Perhaps it would be good to fix them, for some other noobs to understand how it works?

Hi All

What is happening with photobucket now.

Is the only way to pay? Is there a plan?

What must I do?

Thanks

Since photostand crashed and photobucket doesn't seem to support 3rd party sharing, might be worth while to try this:

Got an email today from Photobucket and it seems 3rd party hosting, as we use on the forum, will now have to be a paid service. So, you would have to pay photobucket a monthly fee of $39.99 (or yearly fee of $400.00).
